About The Company

How long has LISCO Transformations been in business?

LISCO Transformations has been serving West Michigan for more than five decades. We began in 1970 as an industrial cleaning service, providing office cleaning for Holland‑area factories. As customer needs grew, so did our capabilities. By 1974, we expanded into sandblasting and painting, and in 1975 we incorporated as Industrial Services, officially becoming a Michigan corporation. In 1983, we discontinued office cleaning to focus entirely on industrial surface preparation, coatings, and restoration, the work that has shaped our reputation for quality and reliability ever since.

What makes LISCO Transformations different from other cleaning, coating, and restoration companies?

Our difference is rooted in the way we work. Every member of our team is committed to honesty, consistency, and genuine support for the people we serve. We work to exceed our customers’ expectations. Customers trust us because we deliver high‑quality workmanship, stay on schedule, communicate clearly, and stand behind every job.

Is LISCO Transformations still family‑owned?

Yes. LISCO Transformations has been family‑owned since the beginning in 1970 and continues into the next generation. The business has been passed from father to son, preserving the values, craftsmanship, and personal accountability that have defined our company for more than 50 years.

What industries or types of facilities do you work with?

We serve a wide range of industries, including automotive, vehicle care, food and beverage, aerospace, manufacturing, maritime, contracting, and commercial construction. Our experience across these sectors allows us to understand the unique demands of each environment and tailor our solutions accordingly.

SERVICES & PROCESS

What services does LISCO Transformations provide?

We offer a comprehensive suite of surface preparation, coating, and restoration services designed to enhance and protect your facility:

  • Surface leveling using mechanical diamond grinding
  • Surface preparation for cementitious and alloy materials using steel shot blasting and abrasive blasting
  • Surface restoration through pressure washing and dry ice blasting
  • Concrete and natural stone polishing for both aesthetic and functional improvement
  • Resinous coatings for decorative, functional, and marine applications, including epoxy, urethane, poly‑aspartic, and poly‑siloxane systems
  • Airless spraying for interior and exterior surfaces such as sculptures, equipment, and structural components
How do I know which service my facility needs?

Different types of damage, whether caused by weather, traffic, chemicals, or age, require different approaches. We evaluate the condition of your surface, the environment it operates in, and your desired outcome to determine the most effective service. Our team will guide you through the options and recommend the best solution for long‑term performance.

What is your process for evaluating a project?

Every project begins with understanding three key factors:

  1. The type of surface we’ll be working with
  2. Your desired outcome, whether functional, aesthetic, or both
  3. Your timeline for completion

Once these are established, we develop a customized plan of action that ensures the best possible results while minimizing disruption to your operations.

Do you offer on‑site assessments or consultations?

Yes. We provide on‑site assessments to evaluate your facility, understand your needs, and recommend the most effective solutions.

How long does a typical project take?

Project timelines vary based on the size of the area, the type of service, the condition of the surface, and environmental factors. During your consultation, we’ll provide a clear timeline so you know exactly what to expect.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Why is proper surface preparation important?

Surface preparation is the foundation of any successful coating or restoration project. Without it, the bond between the surface and the new material is weakened, leading to premature failure. Proper preparation creates a clean, mechanically profiled surface that ensures strong adhesion, maximizes coating performance, and extends the life of your investment.

What methods do you use for surface preparation?

We use a variety of proven preparation methods, including:

  • Pressure washing
  • Chemical scrubbing
  • Abrasive disc grinding
  • Mechanical diamond grinding
  • Steel shot blasting
  • Scarifying

Each method is selected based on the material, condition, and desired finish.

How do you determine which preparation method is right for my facility?

We evaluate the type of surface, its current condition, and the coating or finish that will be applied. This ensures we choose the method that delivers the strongest bond, the best performance, and the longest service life.

COATINGS

What types of coatings do you install?

We install a wide range of high‑performance coatings, including:

  • Epoxy

  • Urethane

  • Poly‑aspartic

  • Poly‑siloxane

  • Water‑borne materials

These systems are selected based on your facility’s traffic levels, chemical exposure, environmental conditions, and performance requirements.

How long do your coating systems last?

Coating lifespan varies depending on environmental conditions, usage, and maintenance. Our systems typically last anywhere from 3 years to more than 20 years when properly maintained.

Are your coatings safe for high‑traffic or industrial environments?

Yes. We install anti‑slip, high‑traffic urethanes and a variety of chemical‑resistant coatings designed specifically for demanding industrial environments.

Can you help match a coating to my facility’s specific needs?

Absolutely. With the right information about your facility’s use, traffic patterns, and environmental exposures, we can recommend a coating system that delivers the performance, durability, and appearance you’re looking for.

RESTORATION

What kinds of surfaces can you restore?

We restore a variety of surfaces, including:

  • Cementitious materials

  • Concrete

  • Natural stone

  • Alloy surfaces

Our restoration services help bring worn or damaged surfaces back to life while preserving their structural integrity.

How do you ensure restoration doesn’t damage the original material?

We begin by understanding the material and its condition. Then we perform a small test area using the least abrasive method necessary to achieve the desired result. This approach ensures we protect the original surface while delivering effective restoration.

Do you offer non‑destructive cleaning options?

Yes. We offer non‑destructive cleaning methods such as dry ice blasting and low‑pressure washing, which remove contaminants without harming the underlying material.

SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

What safety measures do you follow during projects?

We follow all OSHA regulations and industry safety standards. Our team is trained in proper equipment use, hazard awareness, and safe work practices to ensure a secure environment for everyone involved.

Are your products and processes environmentally friendly?

Yes. We prioritize environmentally responsible practices, including:

  • Dust extraction systems
  • Wet grinding to reduce airborne particles
  • Eco‑friendly cleaners
  • Low‑VOC and non‑VOC resin systems
How do you protect employees, customers, and facility occupants during work?

We use vapor barriers, safety signage, proper ventilation, and OSHA‑approved PPE to maintain a safe and controlled work environment throughout the project.

SCHEDULING & LOGISTICS

How far in advance should I schedule a project?

We recommend scheduling 4–6 weeks in advance to ensure availability and proper planning.

Do you work outside normal business hours to minimize disruption?

Yes. We offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to help reduce downtime for your facility.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance or long‑term service plans?

Yes. We provide maintenance options and long‑term service plans to help protect your investment and extend the life of your surfaces.

PRICING & ESTIMATES

How do you determine project pricing?

Pricing is based on the duration of the project, the timing of the work, and the amount and type of materials required. We provide clear, detailed estimates so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you provide free estimates or consultations?

Yes. We offer free estimates and consultations to help you make an informed decision.

What factors influence the cost of a coating or restoration project?

Several factors can affect pricing, including:

  • Accessibility of the project area

  • Severity of surface damage

  • Degree of difficulty

  • Type of materials applied

We evaluate all of these elements to provide an accurate and fair estimate.

RESULTS & GUARANTEES

How long will the results last?

On average, our results last around 5 years, though many systems last significantly longer depending on use, environment, and maintenance.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We offer a 1‑year guarantee covering delamination and UV stability, giving you confidence in the quality and durability of our work.

What kind of maintenance is recommended after installation or restoration?

We recommend keeping surfaces clean using neutral‑pH cleaning products. Each project comes with specific care instructions tailored to the materials and environment to help you maintain long‑term performance.
